Equioxx (firocoxib) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) proven in field trials to relieve the pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis (OA) in horses. Equioxx is a coxib class NSAID, and the first new NSAID entity in many years to be registered for oral use in horses. In trials, Equioxx tablets have shown to improve the mobility of treated horses.

Instructions

Use as directed by your veterinarian. 

The recommended dosage of Equioxx Chewable Tablets is one 57 mg chewable tablet administered orally to horses weighing 800-1300 lbs, once daily for up to 14 days. 

For ease of administration, tablets may be given with food.

Prescription Drug Policy:

Prescriptions CAN NOT be shipped to North Carolina, Hawaii or Alaska at this time.

Prescription drugs can only be shipped upon receipt of an original prescription from a licensed veterinarian. FarmVet can accept an original prescription in one of the following ways:

    The fax must originate from the veterinarian's office.

Prescriptions are non-refundable. Prescriptions are refillable if indicated by your vet, for up to one year from the original date. At the end of one year, prescriptions must be updated. Written prescriptions must include the veterinarian's license number, telephone number, and address. Federal law restricts the use of Rx drugs to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.

Caution

For use in horses only. Do not use in horses intended for human consumption. Store Equioxx out of the reach of dogs and other pets in a secured location in order to prevent accidental ingestion or overdose. 

Human Warnings: Not for use in humans. Keep this and all medications out of the reach of children. Horses with a hypersensitivity to firocoxib should not use Equioxx.

Very effective pain reliever for long term use

Great pain reliever that's safer for long term use. I use it on a couple horses in their teens to help relieve minor aches and pains from hard work and minor arthritic changes. FarmVet has great price and FAST shipping!

Keeps 'em Going

Great product. Have been using it on my now aged and retired Hunt horse for about 10 years. Hes pushing 30 and still gets around pretty nicely considering his ringbone on the coffin joint. Had it not been for the Equioxx I dont think he would still be with me.

Relief Came In A Tiny Pill

My retired geriatric 33 yr. old Andalusian was losing weight & came to a point where his back end wouldn't have strength to get him up from laying down. My heart broke to see him turning on his haunches on the ground & fully laying down, finally exhausted. My Vet said its time. I refused bcuz he wasn't sick-just arthritic in his hind end. They have meds for arthritic people. Why not horses? Then a friend told me of Equioxx. Ever since taking it he's able to rise again on his own. One tiny pill a day & I have this lifelong friend happier, with less pain & the best part...for a little longer. He's slow & thin & won't live forever, I know, but as long as his spirit is spunky & his eyes are still bright, we'll enjoy each day together, as it comes.

Huge Help for Arthritis

My older horse has arthritis in her hocks, and Equioxx has made a huge difference. She’s more comfortable and seems happier overall. I’m so glad we found something that works long term.

Gentle on the Stomach

We tried other NSAIDs that upset my horse’s stomach, but Equioxx has been great. No ulcers or digestive issues, just steady pain relief. Definitely a safer option for long-term use.
