We make filling prescriptions and compounds easy!

At FarmVet, we are proud to offer a full line of pharmaceuticals for your horse, dog, or cat at a great value. We also have the ability to compound prescriptions. Compounding, or preparing customized medications to meet your animal's specific needs, is especially useful for veterinarians who need to develop products to solve individual client problems. We are happy to work with your veterinarian to fill prescriptions and create compounds for your animal.

Prescription items can only be shipped upon receipt of a valid prescription from a licensed U.S. veterinarian (as directed by law). FarmVet can accept a prescription in one of the following ways:

  1. The original prescription can be mailed to FarmVet.com headquarters at:
549 Mt. Hope St., Suite 1, Franklin, TN 37064 (in states where applicable, Michigan is excluded)
  2. A licensed veterinarian may fax the prescription to 615-574-6057. The fax must originate from the veterinarians office.
  3. A licensed veterinarian can call your prescription into the pharmacy at 615-277-5602. Voicemail is acceptable. Prescriptions are refillable, if indicated by your vet, for up to one year from the original date. At the end of one year prescriptions must be updated.

Written prescriptions must include the veterinarian's license number, telephone number, and address. Federal (U.S.A.) law restricts the use of Rx drugs to use by, or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. You can download our prescription drug form in PDF format. The sale of needles and syringes in the state of New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut require a certificate of need or a prescription from a licensed vet.

FarmVet can compound drugs to meet your horse's specific needs. Examples for utilizing compounding include: making the medication more palatable for the animal, compounding precise dosage forms and eliminating the need to crush pills, access to medications that are not commercially available, preparing volumes and concentrations that are size-appropriate for your animal. We do not compound for food producing animals. FarmVet is proud to be a member of the IACP, International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists. Founded in 1991, IACP has been the leader in promoting the art and science of pharmacy compounding. It is the top authority for information, expertise, and practice standards in the compounding industry.

FarmVet offers the highest quality products both in commercial medications and in compounded products. Our compounded medications undergo random testing to ensure quality. We keep certificates of testing on file for review at any time.
